Assalamu alaikum, welcome to our page!
Our mission is to warmly welcome reverts living in Bristol and the South West by offering compassionate support, guidance, and a
safe, inclusive space regardless of background. Through meaningful connections, engaging educational workshops, social gatherings, and a befriending ‘buddy’ programme, we aim to foster a strong sense of belonging, empowerment, and community. We are an organisation founded in 2023 by a group of sisters to support the growing revert community. What began as informal socials for revert sisters has grown into a vibrant initiative that now also includes regular brothers socials. Our Buddy System provides one-to-one support and has helped over
20 individuals. We’ve created a Revert Handbook, distributed interactive prayer mats, and built strong links with local organisations and scholars. We facilitate Shahadah certifications, host Eid socials, and regularly gather feedback.
We operate through a combination of approaches to provide comprehensive support for reverts, including:
One-to-One Buddy System
Our Buddy Scheme helps reduce isolation by pairing reverts with experienced reverts or born Muslims for friendship and support. Each
pair is guided by a Wellbeing or Social Representative. The programme is well established, with many participants reporting improved mental health, a stronger sense of community, and reduced loneliness. Many have even become mentors themselves, gaining confidence and deeper connection within the ummah.
Ongoing Communication
We maintain an active WhatsApp community chat to offer ongoing support and connection.
Monthly Community Events & Collaborations
We organise monthly socials and occasionally collaborate with other groups for events such as community Iftars.
Educational Workshops
Our sisters’ sessions have covered a wide range of workshops so far, including salah, hijab, zakah, colourism and racism, women in Islam,
physical purification, Umrah and Hajj, preparing for Ramadan, engaging with the Qur’an, and stories of Prophet Isa and Maryam.
Partnerships with Local Organisations
We have built strong links with local groups and scholars. Some volunteer as guest speakers for our workshops, while others offer
ongoing support to reverts. Examples include University Islamic Societies (e.g., Roots Academy, Arabic classes, speaker events,
community Iftars), Deen 4 Sisters (weekly halaqahs), and The Nurture Project (educational and spiritual workshops).
Geographical Reach
Though based in Bristol, we support members from nearby towns and villages without dedicated revert communities, including
Gloucestershire, Weston-super-Mare, Yate, Dursley, Stroud, Taunton, Trowbridge, Chepstow, and surrounding areas.
